FAQ
Allergens
Is everything gluten free?
Yes! Everything is totally gluten free and is suitable for those with celiac.
Do you offer dairy free and vegan options?
Yes! (They’re also gluten free because everything is gluten free.)
My kitchen is not dairy or egg free, and some of the equipment is used for dairy and egg containing items. All of my equipment that touches food goes through the dishwasher between uses, and all surfaces are cleaned between orders.
Do you offer sugar free?
Yes! So far, I offer keto cupcakes and sugar free whipped or buttercream frostings.
Are your products free from other allergens such as nuts and soy?
I use soy milk for some of my dairy free items, and some of my ingredients may contain nuts and soy. Many of my items are naturally nut free, but there are nuts in my kitchen so these items may not be safe for those with severe nut allergies. I am able to make substitutions so that your order does not contain nuts or soy, but even though my equipment is thoroughly cleaned between uses, it may not be suitable for those with severe allergies.
Do you offer goods free of artificial dyes?
Yes! I can use colors made with natural ingredients, but they may not be as vibrant.
Can I request specific dietary modifications for custom orders?
Yes! I can’t accommodate everyone, but send me a message and I’ll see if I can help you!
Do you have a dedicated store-front?
Not yet, but I hope to in the future! Right now, Gator Bites Bakery is a cottage bakery and everything is made in my home kitchen.
How do you ensure cross-contamination does not occur?
All of my equipment is cleaned between uses. Dishes, utensils, and anything used to make food go through the dishwasher with detergent on the heavy cycle. All counters and non-food-contact equipment are cleaned then wiped down with a diluted bleach solution. I frequently wash my hands when I’m in the kitchen.
*Disclaimer*
My family still eats prepackaged snacks that do contain gluten, but these DO NOT come in contact with my equipment and work surfaces, as I have celiac and do not want to get sick. There is no wheat/barley/rye flour in the house, because that stuff flies and sticks to everything. There are nuts, peanut butter, dairy, egg, and soy products/ingredients in my kitchen.
Are your ingredients sourced from gluten free providers?
All of my ingredients are gluten free. They’re either labeled gluten free on the container, or I’ve checked their website to see if they state gluten free. You can find a list of all of my ingredients that I use in the link on my footer or here.
Orders
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept cash, Venmo, CashApp, Paypal, and payment on my website. I am unfortunately unable to accept checks.
Can I place an order in advance? How far in advance should I place my order?
Please place orders for large cakes at least two weeks in advance and everything else two days in advance. Orders can be rushed for a 20%-of-your-order fee.
Are you available for wholesale or bulk orders?
Message me and I’ll see what I can do. I bake from my home kitchen and do not have the commercial space for very large orders.
Do you have a minimum order requirement?
That depends on the item. Things like cupcakes, cookies, petit fours, and cinnamon rolls need to be ordered per dozen, but you can order just one of just about anything else.
Can I cancel or modify an order once it’s been placed?
Yes, within reason.
Do you offer refunds or exchanges?
For the most part, no. Refunds or partial refunds will be available in the event of an error on my part, but returns/exchanges are not possible since these are food items. See terms and policies.
Shipping/Receiving
How do I get my order?
If you ordered locally, I can meet you somewhere (within reason). I’m in Springfield, LA. I can meet in Denham Springs, Hammond, and everywhere in between. I can also ship a few things.
Do you ship?
Some things! Only domestic shipping in the USA. I can ship cinnamon rolls, king cakes during king cake season. I’ll also have to test shipping cookies in the future.
How much is shipping?
It depends on how far away you are and what product, but message me and I’ll try to calculate that for you if it’s not automatically calculated on the website.
General
How do your gluten free baked goods taste compared to traditional baked goods?
I think I’ve gotten pretty close to gluten-full baked goods! It should be hard to tell that they’re gluten free. Compared to other gluten free products, like ones that you can find at Walmart, I think mine are much better (not to toot my own horn).
How do I store your products?
The item will be labeled with “keep refrigerated” if needed to be stored in the fridge. Everything else should be kept in an airtight container.
Can you freeze your products?
Cakes, cupcakes, petit fours, and cinnamon rolls can be frozen with minimal quality loss. I have not tested everything else.
Do you have nutritional information available for your products?
Not yet, but I hope to be able to provide nutrition facts in the future.
Can I meet you at your bakery/house?
Due to insurance purposes, unfortunately not. I hope to one day have a store front.
